Well if the ground hog lived in Lane county he would have seen his shadow this February, and froze while doing it!!!

Feb 24th,
Xander is on Steroids like every chemo cycle for the next 4 more days. Its really showing in his personality. The chemo has him feeling weak and exhasted, but the steroids are making him irritable and ansy. What a nasty combo. Poor kid.

Feb. 23rd,
Xander's apt went great. His blood counts were good. The only down side of his apt. was Xander felt the needle going in for his spinal chemo. He and the Dr. sat down afterwards and he discussed his issue with how that should have gone and how it did go. The Dr. agreed  to up his pain med. for next apt. and explained to him he was develping a resistance to the pain med. It was odd watching my 7 year old advicate for his own health needs. What a strong little guy. Anyways that was the only down side. He is doing great.

Feb. 15th, I think Xander may have made a new best friend. That's nicer then you might think since over the 2 years most of his regular contacts have been Drs. We have limited his Home Source classes to only Swimming and Karate to limit germ transfer. After having a simple cold leaving us with a ambulance trip to Portland for a week we need to be careful. Most of the kids in Xander's class are a couple of years older, and find him to young to really spend time with, or the type of "girly" girl that find boys a waste of their time. Most of the kids he is in class with have seen him to sick to walk or talk. At this age that is a bit disconcerting. He is so happy to have met someone he can talk gross stuff with, as well as chatter about all his favorite TV shows. Yes I know there are plenty of family member that would love to do that, but they aren't his peers. Other then his new buddy there is nothing new to report on Xander. Wish us good luck with Spinal Chemo next week, and I'll check back in after chemo with blood counts and updates.

Feb. 12th,
Xander is feeling good, and having fun. Yesterday we went on a glow in the dark mini golfing trip through CandleLighters. Xander had a blast. Spinal chemo is next week so you might check back on Friday, or Sat. for updates.

Feb. 2nd,
Xander is doing great. Today he is stuck with erands and yard work, but the steroids are out of his system for a couple more weeks making the tasks so much more fun for everyone.
